Bersih protest, the coalition for clean and fair elections by NGO's seek for free,clean and fair elections. Bersih claim the government manipulating the electoral process to give unfair advantage to the ruling party.
On 9 July 2011, estimated 50,000 turned out to protest on the strreet. The police deployed tear gas and water cannons to break up the protest and arrested more than 1600 protesters.
